tell me would you buy a ceral wich display is so dark and gloomy(and to an extent it feels like its not really... tatsty? look at real cereals boxes, they have lively colors because they want to reflect the healthyness and sugar-esque flavors. not to mention, the idea of lively colors is to actually attract the consumer's eye to the product.

and avoid those nasty lines in the background.

I'm having a big trouble uploading my image... when i put it in the small file mode.. it says its too big, when i put it in the large file.. it says its to small.
Could anyone help me?

Posted By: Hapiel
Date Posted: 25 March 2009 at 3:13pm
Yes, you need 2 files. The normal one, you put that on the large thing, and a small one. You will probably still have to make thatone, but you can just cut out a piece of the image you made, as long as it is smaller than 100x100.

BTW this video was shown during advertising campaign of 'Crunch' breakfast in Russia in 2005:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUdW4sKWfuc - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUdW4sKWfuc
It's local electropop band Roboty (Robots), quite famous in the underground. Don't know who promoted who at the end.
Sorry for offtopic.

Thnx

I'm not sure if I am allowed to remove and re-upload an improved version after all ready submitting to the challenge?

I thought it could be cool with a dragon (far from finished dragon)? Y/N?

The only thing I see wrong is that the "H" in crunch looks a little like a "K".  I quite like the dragon - is he holding a spoon?

Now his spoon is finished and he has a thumbs up - my shading is so lame but I'm not good at shading. I'll attend to the k looking H. is it more legible with a brighter inner color for crunch?

Looks like Larry Laffer is branching out into breakfast foods... I'm scared to think what the toy inside would be

I like the font for "Crunch" but the "Pixel" is a little hard on the eyes.

Hmm, I see what you mean, I'll try to fix that during the weekend. Thanks :)

Though I'm not too happy witht the Crunch. I know I can do much better. Thank god it's just a WIP :3 (Hmm that sounded stupid).

When are we getting more stages of your design :o?

(It feels a tad simple right now so I won't go into any complex comments :3 Though I do like the concept!)

If the version I posted in this thread is the only one you've seen you are being WAY too kind by saying "simple"... it sucks.  Thankfully, I have 20 more versions in the WIP section that show much more promise and I've submitted my final design to the gallery.  Thanks for the kind words, especially considering the state of the work you were commenting on.

I look forward to seeing what else you come up with over the weekend, good luck.

I just re-read this, "8-bits"... hilarious.

It actually started as 8 bits, but I was going to have 8 flavors which didn't fit in the pictures.
Anyway, because I'm obsessive, here's my latest version, which will probably be the final one

Posted By: Hapiel
Date Posted: 28 March 2009 at 4:45pm
Lol, you know the difference between 8 colors and 8 bits? 8 bits would mean 256 colors. You just said 256 flavors.

Which is ok, but don't dare to link that number to the number of colors ;)

-------------

Posted By: Windwhisper
Date Posted: 29 March 2009 at 2:04am
Yeah, the "bits" are a problem either way.

I figured it made more sense with 6 bits as a kind of a pun since bits can refer to just small items as well (in a non-scientific sense I suppose).

Posted By: Hapiel
Date Posted: 29 March 2009 at 4:13am
Yes, thats the funny part, but still it would look better if youd put down an 8 I think :)

-------------

Posted By: r1k
Date Posted: 29 March 2009 at 7:12am
ya I think 8 would be better too.  So what if it implies 256 flavors its just like a fake measurement an add would use to make something sound cooler or better that isnt meant to be taken seriously.  Like I saw an infomercial once for a blender that measured its watts in "mega power".

In a last ditch effort to rescue the Jaguar, Atari Corp. tried to play down the other two consoles by proclaiming the Jaguar was the only "64-bit" system. The claim is technically questionable http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atari_Jaguar#cite_note-usenet-8 - [9] , because the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_processing_unit - CPU ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorola_68000 - 68000 ) and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphics_processing_unit - GPU executed a 32-bit instruction-set, but sent control signals to the 64-bit graphics co-processors (or "graphics accelerators"). Atari Corp.'s position was that the mere presence of 64-bit ALUs for graphics was sufficient to validate the claim.

Anyway, 64 bits would mean it can represent 18446744073709551616 values.
