Since the old Backgrounds from my game where placeholders (Edited Sprites for Rockman X3 to test the Paralax Scrolling), I started to create my own backgrounds. Heres what I got so far:

I know that the green shades of the grass and the trees are different, I didnt have time yet to make them more fitting. I suppose they'll meet somewhere in the middle in the final version.

It reminds me of Midnight Resistance and Gryzor, which is 100x a good thing!
Your existing stuff just needs some blur cleanup and noise cleanup in a few areas, and it will be FABULOUS!

Update. I Added some shadows to the trees and Changed the Grass and Leave colours to a more fitting green tone. That helped me to reduce the total color amount to 17.

Looking softer with those colours now, which I suppose it suitable for a backdrop. The tree trunks are a little monotonous, and the ones in the distance are taller than the ones in the foreground, because they are thinner and further away, but still extend up to the same visible height as the ones nearest the viewer.
Also I'd suggest altering the hues of the faraway trunks to a more blue tone or something like that, what's it called...aerial perspective.

Add more trees. The back is too plain, add some tree shadows and tree-shadow-stripes there.

textures a re perfect. You have solved the wood texture really nicely, really easy.

Very nice!

I agree, more trees in the background (A series of thick vertical dark lines would do it, I think)

I love the leaves on the trees. Great use of colors, mate (referring to the 1st one..I love bright colors XD).

The forest part is looking good so far. How about shorter trees? Put some perspective in there, you know?

Can't wait to see more.
