Turns out iso was indeed as hard as I thought it'd be; But I really like iso sprites. So for my iso 'set' (A good reason to post a lot of iso sprites in this one thread) I've started with a pillar.

C+C? (Including but not limited to what C+C stands for =P)

"C+C? (Including but not limited to what C+C stands for =P)" - ROFLMOx1000

comments + critiques - sometimes, constructive criticism

First things first with iso projects, the corners.
If you are making items that will end up fitting together and used in sets then all corners will be 2px. Isolated items or single things in iso can have the 3px corner. Make a decision before you begin and stick to it. Notice on your corners you have done a combo of both, this is trouble.
Other than that you have almost no contrast which only reads as boring. White items do not have to be grey. Blues, purples and creamy colors work nice too.

ADDING MORE...
Think about what in your set will need to be detailed enough to read well. If for example its an apple, or the eyes of characters then establish that first so that you know what scale you'll be working on.

I decided to remake it.

Besides being 'parent' , How does this look?
I can't seem to get the outline color correct, or add much of a texture.
Edit-
Or the top part, forgot.

It's like transparent without being trans.

waaaaaa
anyhoo, this is what I meant before. Find how much deatil you need to determine the scale to work on. If you want to see what type of column this is, like doric, or corinthian, etc. then the scale is determined by whatever it takes for you to see those details.
