Hello, members of Pixeljoint!
I registered here a few days ago, and you've managed to impress me really well.
I registered mostly because I need feedback and tips on how to improve my pixelling. What do you have to do to become a better pixelartist?
What programs do you use?
Anyways, I'll start by introducing myself:

Ever since I got my first cellphone, a Sony Ericsson T610 for about... 5 years ago, I've been interested in making pictures pixel for pixel.
I was quite good at drawing, epecially for my age (was about 12).
And when I found out my cellphone had a drawing program, I started pixelling.

So, these pictures are made by a 12-year-old on his cellphone:

English title: The Amulet of Samarkand. Book cover: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/7f/Amuletsamarkand.jpg - http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/7f/Amuletsamarkand.jpg

This one was unfortunately never finished..

"SHL" are my initials.
And yes, I was quite a Nintendo fan :P (and I still am)

Later I have only been making graphics for my own games.

Here's from a topdown game called "Gunther":

Here's Gunther again, but in platform view:

Once again Gunther, but this time it's made for use with fake 3d:

A fake 3d version of Samus Aran from Metroid:

Sprites and inventory from a wannabe Age of Empires game:

And last, "The Lonely Pirate":

Hope you like my work :)
I don't really need constructive critisism on the cellphone pictures, but criticism for the last ones would be nice.'

Nah, the links at the bottom of my post.
They are rather big, so I didn't put them in an [img] tag.

On man, that sux. Please place link to them at least for easy viewing, cuttin' and pastin' hurts.
Pixelart in tif format is not cool, png8 or gif (these are the olny file types allowed here for pixelart.

I've never really understood what the difference between the filetypes is.
But then again, I'm selftaught, so there's probably a lot I have missed.
I'll reupload tomorrow, I'm tired like.. something that's tired.

I tried putting the links into an [url] tag, but it didn't work, for some reason.

Hey there.

What do you have to do to become a better artist? Practice.

And I use MSpaint to draw, Giffy to set transparencies, and unFreeze to animate the individual frames. (Though I should probably upgrade by now.)

This is true. I'm not even going to argue that point.
