in the spanish speakers the tooth fairy not exist, is "raton perez" (perez mouse): Tooth tradition is present in several http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_culture - western cultures under different names. For example in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_language - Spanish-speaking countries, this character is called Ratoncito http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P%C3%A9rez - Pérez , a little http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mouse - mouse with a common surname, or just "ratón de los dientes" (Tooth Mouse) i have a good idea :) |

You can go to tiny pics.com where you:
1. Create an account.
2. Upload your WIP file (I use bmp as this prevents los of colour etc).
You will see that your image was given a whole list of URLs -
3. Choose the url that is meant for postings on forums like thisone,
4. Copy it. Then you go to the bottom of this page, write you post, and
5. Click the little tree icon - there they will ask you to provide the url -
NB delete the part that says [IMG] and only keep the http etc part. 6. then hit the preview button - if you can see your pic - you're good to
go!
Well - that's how I do it anyway....good luck

Celri, thanks for the info...I'm gonna give this a try and hope I don't mess it up completely, we'll see. Like I said earlier, I just started working with pixel art after spending along time in 3d, and as such it's quite a breath of fresh air to get back to some roots here. Back in the early 90's i used to try and create stuff in this format with MS Paint, looks like some things truly are cyclical in nature. Anyways, I liked this toothfairy contest, and had a kind of ill idea, so said why not.  I added a ball which took about 3 minutes and also tried to save as a jpeg so i don't get compression issues...i took 2 mins for the shadow around the ball to ease Dr. D's mind as to the validity of the work. Hopefully this will maintain the detail when enlarged Now I'm working on reducing the color palettte, thanks for the heads up |

@J_Z, that is truly a great picture, but it isn't hand pixelled. Just make sure you read the rules before submitting, we usually have an eye for how something was made just by looking at it. ...Or... it suffered from quality loss at some point. I'd love to see it re-done using pure methods, or in it's original format if quality was lost. |

maybe it has lost some quality or whatever, but this was painted in graphicsgale pixel by pixel and using the other tools available in that suite...don't hate just cause i got mad skills :D If you'd like I can share the .bmp (which is 300*300) original file...or i guess I can make it look crappier by not shading as well and having hard edges on everything. |

If Elk says there's an issue...there just might be... I agree that the ball looks very different from the rest - texture wise etc... but I don't like to even contemplate that someone would do such a thing so I'm reserving judgement...benefit of the doubt...
Please let this not be a malicious attempt at trying to post something that is not pixelworthy!
Some of us here are working our butts off to try and meet the standards and things like these are very demoralising...makes us look like idiots for even trying and wanting to learn..

I just went back and re-read all of the posts. My opinion is that if J_Z had really drawn that he wouldn't have gotten so angry about it. He would have just posted some WIP and put an end to the questions.
It does suck that some people find the need to cheat. I completely suck at pixel art but I have fun doing it, and hope I will get better with practice.

Hear! Hear! My pixel art sucks the big hairy one! I admit this and every time I post something i can't wait to hear what input there is so I can get better at this - It's amasing to be able to share one's ideas and concepts and be guided by those with experience and insight.
Heck I've only just started doing this so I invite all the help I can get with open arms - why do some people need to fall in trying to prove something!?

Still a bit rough at some points, hopefully I can fix it when I'm colouring.
8 colours so far. I'm really not used to limitting my palette, this is goign to be hard for me. XD 
Hopefully you can tell she has no mouth and those are stitches. That's why she likes teeth so much. :3 Working steadily at it..

I apologize if this is the wrong forum for this type of question. I submitted my Tooth Fairy entry 3 days ago and it says that it is still awaiting approval. Is that normal? Should I resubmit? Thank you for your time. The WIP's look amazing btw.

Its in now, sorry about the delay. You could fix up some of the black lineart, Anyhoo, pieces are added all the time and sometimes pieces get buried in the queue. The preview didn't say 'challenge' so it just got overlooked. Not that previews have to say challenge but you know, it didn't say 'click me'. Best of luck. ------------- |

I won't claim to be 100% sure of much! Of this, certainly not. I'll try re-submitting it now; maybe something wigged out before. (The form is auto completing this time -- I definitely did it before!) Ok; well, I don't know what happened, but it's in the gallery now, awaiting approval. Guess the flub's something on my end. Tomorrow, I'll have to give my router a stern talking to. :D |

Not to be funny or anything - but I submitted mine a while back as well - followed the usual procedure etc - still awaiting approval.
If there are any issues with it I was not made aware of it in the forum as....welll it must've been so horrible no one wanted to comment on it so I took it out (you'll see messages with little x's in them where they used to be)
I worked very hard on that piece and - admittedly I didn't have enough time to finish the way I wanted it too - but I think it at least deserves to be included in the challenge even if it won't come close to the other seriously cool entries (wow there's amazing stuff out there!)
... does any one know why it's still in the queue?
 Never mind - just went on - Thanks guys...I don't know HOW we are going to vote!!!!!!!!! THere's seriously no more than 3 votes available???
