CHALLENGE: My Love From Outer Space

Love rarely comes from where you expect it. Imagine and draw the first encounter with your perfect match...from another galaxy!!

Canvas Size - Max 240 (width) x 160 (height).
Colors - Max 32.
Transparency - No.
Animation - No.

CHALLENGE RULES

  • Participants have until this upcoming Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) to /pixels/submit_icons.asp'>submit their entry (strict). Don't forget to check the 'Submit to weekly challenge' checkbox.
  • Only new pixels allowed.
  • Open to all members.
  • Posting WIPs in this thread or in new threads in the /forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=8'>WIP section is highly encouraged, but ONLY SUBMIT YOUR FINAL ART.

CHALLENGE JUDGING

  • Every Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) the previous week's entries are judged.
  • Every week a new voting poll will be posted for previous week's entries.
  • Winner announced the following week.

CHALLENGE PRIZES/GOODIES

  • Top three finishers will receive an award displayed in your PJ gallery profile for all to see and envy.
  • Top finisher gets to call the following week's challenge...sweet.
  • 'Participation' ribbons will be given for all who enter.
  • No matter what happens you get challenged :)

Saw the challenge when I logged in this after noon about 5pm, it is now 3am... yeah... so here is what I have. I didn't see that this had to be a Original Character so for fun I dug up some Fan Characters my wife and I have. So even if its not valid after all I still had fun making this.

Still a work in progress... I am REALLY bad at shading so its taking me forever and a day (Especially with the 32 color limit) Hints on shading would be appreciated.

At last! got an idea for a challenge! :D
here's my wip(me and my giant alien GF):

the "clothes" on her are marks,not clothes,lol.
and this is really ironic! beacause my real gf is really not tall and i'm really really tall lol.
this is going to be so (alien'ish'-)cute! :3

[EDIT] I lineart(ed) it,and now i'm colouring it! she's going to be gold,and the marks white,lol.
[EDIT] I need help! i'm not good with BG's :S

You can use http://www.online-image-editor.com - this online color counter which is pretty convenient.  Just make sure the file you're using is a .gif, there is an option that lets you do that as well c:

Wait, is this for the weekly challenge?

Doesnt seem to fit the theme though.


The halo thing around earth doesnt really seem all that spread out, maybe make less colors, and the darker color even darker.  Sorry if I'm not explaining clearly my brain is dead from 2 and a half ours of math.

@ Oren: this looks great! Don't worry about a bg and check your lines and anatomy. That thing growing out of her head doesn't look as good as the rest, and is a bit meaningless. Also her hips should curve back a little.
Not sure about outlines either.

This is going to be an interesting challenge.  I am looking forward to what will be produced.  I wont be participating; still need to finish my Black&White challenge...

I can empathize with you, TheRobinHood.  I've done an hour of math and have another hour to go.  Speaking of math, I suppose I should get back to work.

and what can I do with the BG? because i'm not good at making BG's and the challenge don't aprove transparency so I'll think about it ^ ^

I have a question: is it supposed to be the perfect match between yourself and an extra terrestrial or just two extra terrestrials?

Dhr. Bosch : nice pose, though  the thighs seem a bit long. Keep working on your hands and your face. You really should keep the grid as a floor (with  some aa here and there), it perfectly matches the atmosphere of your piece. I think the pink wall doesn't fit the rest of the pic.

@ manjaman: thanks for the comments, though i agree that the grid is totaly eighties (as are chrome fembots) i'm not entirely shure how far i wanna take it. i was planning to put her in a more steriotypical harem room.

Avatar would be an obvious thing to do as its quite new and quite specific that its a different planet. :)

Nice job, commented on it, and as I said, I really dont see the point of the green outline in some places, seeing as its the only thing its used for.
