Looking good.  Face seems a bit alienish.  Chin maybe could be thicker at the end.

Still have one color to add to the bottom left and 2 more to the bottom right, then I'll start fleshing it out.  Good fun!

Semi-stylised self portrait WIP

One colour left for bottom right.
I'm unhappy with how un-me-like it is. Pallete will also most likely change.

@drr, looking good, maybe use some dithering between the top two quadrants to make it a little bit more seamless.

@setz, go go gadget submit! The first one is very clever.

Ditherage added!
This is probably the final version, but I won't submit it yet, maybe tomorrow something obvious that needs fixing will be apparent.

Dr. Fibonacci Jones, I presume?

Still in the process of cleaning up and adjusting palette.

(final edit)

Dark top makes a lot more sense. Added some more contrast, higher saturation, and some minor dithering.

What I have so far. Not sure of what I could make in the top right corner, some leaves maybe (but I suck at leaves)

@Manjaman: perhaps making the metal part and the blank one air and water? Stylised wind should be easy enough to do in 3 colours :)

Manu : your link seems to be broken (but yeah, my portrait does look like MM, I didn't notice)

Jeremy : well in fact, the initial project was to make the four elements but then I tried to make the wind and the water... and that was a disaster.
I will give it a shot, but on the other hand, I'm quite satisfied with my metal corner :)

everybody : check http://images.uulyrics.com/cover/d/david-bowie/album-best-of-david-bowie.jpg - this ref , it could give you ideas...

edit : Before I clean it, does it look like stormy clouds ?
re-edit : cleaned do you see lightnings here ?

edit3 : I feel soooo lonely
I think I've fixed the lightnings

The storm cloud looks more like water or the sea than a cloud, tbh.

Going for another one, trying to get it more realistic than the previous.

Date Posted: 04 March 2010 at 12:35pm
OMGLOLZORS : yeah, I know there's a problem with this storm :/

Water complete :

Doubts... Sand or soil ?

@ Manjaman: sorry for the misunderstanding, my post wasn't a responding to yours! Off-topic in fact, I just happened to find this Marilyn Manson painting called Fibonacci, had to share it.
The link works for me, maybe you can get to it from the http://www.marilynmansonimages.com/mansonpaintings.htm#artjump2 - gallery page ? Leftmost column, 7th from top.

And, your entry is great! I know elements can be tough.

Sorry Manu, my self-centredness can be tricky sometimes :P
Not my favourite painting by MM, but that's kinda funny because in my class we were doing illustrations about Fibonacci sequence and Phi, and this painting definitly looks similar to what some of the students have drawn (including me ).
Thanks buddy !

Interesting task

Interesting entry
This is very nice like that, but the 2-colors part could be optimized to draw a red hood (the fabric doesn't need more colors). I was thinking about that because the darker red of this part follow the curve of a hood under the hair.

VIC : This is gonna be great, I can feel it.

Dude this one looks absolutly great.
And you definitly could improve something. In the bottom left part, you have two lighter red shades, see ? If you remove one of these, you can add one of your orange to aa the hair... I think that could laid to semthing awesome.
Quick edit, I've started to aa the hair to show you what I mean :

Got Pixel?

Bottom left should be darker
keep in mind transpparency is a color, so top left is 3, t-r is 4, b-l is 6, and b-r is 9

You seem to have a missing tooth on the transition from cyan to green.  I dont know much about skulls, but top right seems so weird, cant put my finger on it.
