evincarofautumn Bio:
Pixel art is the reason that I started using computers.  Now I do art, music, programming...you name it.  For a long time, I forgot about the pixel medium altogether, until a couple of years ago, when I became interested again.  I practice off and on, and luckily I've started to improve!

And I'm everywhere.  Search for my nick and you'll know what I mean.  ^_^

Clean pig, more like. Quite stylish!

Nice job, solid technique.  Could use improvement, but at a very high level already.

PHALLUS!

Nice.  Looks rather like a platformer mock-up.  (I can just imagine walking on the tree's nose!)

Hmm...maybe that's my next challenge!

Nice work.  I love the violet ramp that you chose.

Thanks.  I understand where you're coming from, but, well, I made the choices that I did and I'm happy with them for now.

Not bad.  Looks kind of like the wind boss from Bomberman 64:  The Second Attack.

You have just unwittingly administered a massive dose of inspiration to me.  Thanks so much and great work!

I love this.  You obviously put a lot of effort into it...and aspirin, perhaps?

And absinthe is totally my alcoholic beverage of choice.  I mean, it's just so steampunk.  How could I not?

Really great job.

And..."31" sounds rather familiar, no?

Ha.  I guess it's just the mood in which I found myself this morning.  ^_^

Thanks so much for your comments.  Several artists' galleries have been helpful, including yours...even if I didn't entirely come through on this piece, I think I'll do better in the future because of what I've learned.  Anyway, I'm done looking at this for a long while!

Perhaps next time I should choose a less complex palette...

Thanks for your comments.  I think I mostly just needed to get away from it for a while.  I've gone back to it—taking some inspiration from your work, Mr. Scene —to smooth it out.  So far it's looking good, and radically different:  I may have to end up posting the new one as a separate icon!

A strong piece in general, but I am just absolutely in love with the border.

This is a very strong idea.  I think it would be perfect if the lines were a bit bolder and you were to add some AA.  You can do it!

Nice.  I like that the animation is dynamic, but the character still has a lot of weight.  My only critiques are that there are a few stray pixels here and there (esp. on the edges of his limbs) and that the red lighting from below doesn't shift with his rotation.

Cave Story-style shading for the win, though.    You get major props for the body.

Beautiful work!  It's eminently readable and fascinating to examine—owing to the sheer amount of detail.

This has really good antialiasing.

I was a little uncomfortable with your colour choices at first, but the more I look at this, the more I can't help but like it.

Bugs me only if they're intended to be perfectly radial.  Then again, as I always say, if you're going to make a mistake, you ought to make it big.  Then it doesn't look like a mistake anymore.  ^_^

AA is not really possible with my constraints.  What do you mean by "detached"?

Well, I wasn't so sure about the triangle.  I can't very well antialias the edges, considering that I'm working within NES constraints.

I like this version a lot better than the earlier version you sent, mainly because it's a lot softer.

Nice effects.  The machine looks very solid and very alive when it recoils.
