great design, but i found the shading inconsistent in some parts, figuring the light source come from the front of the character, thus the apparent pillow-shading.
Also i think you should tune the contrast and the brightness, since it looks a bit dark.
i wouldn't worry about the color limit, if I were you. Looks spiffy - the only parts which bother me are the pillowy shaded "breasts". Seriously =) Love the wings.
