The first thing I thought - it's quite challenging and should be done :)
Just wanted to experiment with such unusual palette and make a game mockup from it.
Probably it could be a point&click adventure, where you must go through a dark forest full of dangerous things with several different mushrooms (each with its own ability).


Btw, it was fun to do that thing - have fun :)

A late comment but I just saw the two little black mushrooms that are interrupted by drops in the backgound. I had to pay respect to such detail!

Man I love this palete, the red on the dark colors really gives the piece life. Amazing and this work just makes it more impressive.

This looks like it'd be a fun game. Like The Lost Vikings meets Alice in Wondrland in a point and click adventure. The early cartoonish vibes are awesome though.!
