the last of my astronaut-themed pieces from or for evoke 2005.. the classic gridcopy-piece a demoscene pixel-artists has to have in his portfolio.. reference was a vampirella-picture by Dorian Cleavenger on which i penciled my reference-grid to get the proportions right (see here) background and a few details are still to be finished.. i concentrated on the important parts first =P workin steps here: http://www.piexeln.de/pics/tomic-favourite_astronaut_steps-anim1.gif (fast) + http://www.piexeln.de/pics/tomic-favourite_astronaut_steps-anim2.gif (slow) reference: see above tools: grafx2

7heSama: Gridcopy is a term used in the demoscene (I think outside the demoscene there is another term, not sure) to describe the workflow of drawing a grid on the source image and then copying that source image (usually a photocopy, a photo, a picture from a magazine, what have you) with the help of that grid which you can also establish in your art program. This makes it pretty easy to get proportions right without too much effort.

Hello.

I really like this, the anatomy is really well done. If I had to nitpick, it would be the left knee/thigh, which isn't bad at all, just not as consistently amazing as the rest. But that's just a small thing, awesome job!

looks nice.

a lot of the anatomy bothers me, especially the left leg and right arm (length, shape, shading and proportions in comparison to rest of body). also, the way you shaded her right hand makes it look like the hand is the wrong way around (but only if you look quickly). the planet on the right looks really nice. the right part of her bottom lip too seems a bit out of place (the shining just below the black). also, look at photos to see how the neck vain should go.
