Blue Mountain Sunrise :: Pixel Art Detail

Man, you have crazy skills. I keep looking at this picture and I keep thinking how much I like it. I like your style man. Keep it up!

What I don't understand is why half the mountains are completely dark and half light when there's no suggestion of the light coming from the right.  I think you definitelly need to go back and create the sunrise, since it looks odd with the sky so even in the entire picture, but the mountains so contrasted.

I like the contrast though, like d-p said it's a good representation of ice, though you might want to consider losing the dithering, as it creates a texture and really sharp shading would only add to the ice effect.  

Lastly, you need to aa by hand, or else it won't be pixel art.  I find paint to be the simplest program, it's really not any worse than others.  And if you don't feel strong enough, that's just all the more reason to try it and practice it!   ^__^

Its a cool scene, quite strong contrast and hard forms, which is a good representation of ice and snow  I guess. Nice work.

I'll edit it in the future to add more colors..some trees and maybe a nice orange sunrise.

You'd pretty much have to do AA by hand regardless of what program you use. There should be tutorials on AA that you should really check out. I hate MS Paint, but that doesn't mean that you can't do it in there. If you want, you can try out Graphics Gale, it's free, it's a pretty good program that also supports layers. I think it's a pretty good piece, but I agree with the others that you should have had more colors rather than fully blue.

How do I do AA in MSpaint? Is there a secret other than doing that by hand? I dont think im skilled enough yet to AA on my own... Thanks for the good comments guys

Great work on a BG, smoothing up the edge of bright and dark with aa would rock the rock :) Other than that it's really good.

Really good work.  I want to see more. 

Very nice. Deeper shadow work could really spice this up.
