@SeDiceBisonte thanks! The mech design was fun. About halfway through I realized I hadn't flipped the canvas, discovered everything was leaning worryingly over one side. I picked up the top half and moved it over. Then I had to reintegrate all the gribble so the arm looked like an arm again. It helped the design no end!
Amazing piece, love the ghost/mist people and the whole composition. Superb!!
This is great. I love the way you've drawn the mist and that mech design is wonderful!
@Trigonomicon and I hope you had a great Christmas season!
Thank you so much for this! I did not expect anyone to combine the folklore and sci-fi promts, but you did so beautifully ^^
@Clovvach thanks! I was working with the idea of scandinavian folklore but technology. It's a troll mech checking in with the virtual assistant of the world computer ELF (possibly Electronic LifeForm - based on the naming convention established in 80s sitcom ALF)
@nOmzat I kind of went to town on the giftwrap and used way too many colours. The actual piece is more muted with what ended up being a fun palette thats blue in the lights and orange in the darks. I can't imagine it working in any other piece!
This is totally not what I expected seeing the gift wrap! The piece turned out amazing, the way the mechanical and the spiritual parts contrast each other is beautiful =)
@nOmzat You're right: the gift wrap's definitely a bit portalish with the orange and blue. A couple of days to go till we see all the secret santas though...
Neat, gives me portal vibes. Can't wait to see what the gift looks like!
@umbohr It was actively piece to work on. Knowing there's a specific audience is very motivating but also you don't have to worry about commercial pressures as in a commission. Best of both worlds.
