The background didn't take that long compared to the whole picture... about a day or so. Most of the time was spent on the wings.

I love everything about this and you used interlaced dithering so well that it looks smooth but textured to an extent to make it look like actual human skin, well done

Looks like a painting, the background is wonderful, because on closer inspection it's actually quite simple, but it's really effective. And she's pro. Only thing i'm not keen on is that scythe thing, the brown areas look too furry i think.Beautiful colours, and all. Must've taken ages, deserves a top-spot.

As often I am hated for my crit regardless here it is: The stick thingy makes the pic look flat. It feels to me it should of been angled more towards the viewer. :P Also the hair IMO should go behind the wing.

This is exceedingly beautiful. I'd point out that there are a few jagged spots on some of the feathers, but then... I'm not sure, 'cause it could very well be intentional.
Either way, this is an instant favorite.

Very well done. My main crit is that the wings mismatch her battle-ready pose -- they look like a decoration rather than anything useful. I expected the left wing to be pointing more at the viewer, and the right wing to wrap around her more rather than sticking out like that. (left/right is from viewers perspective)or it might've worked better to position the wings to directly counterbalance her upper body posture (left one would be more folded up and it's near edge would be closer to the viewer.)

oh wow! This is amazing. Your technical ability is exceptional.My only crit is the eye furthest away seems to flatten the face a little. Totally minor point though as I love this picture.

amazing piece! just a minor, minor crit, I don't know if someone said it already because theres LOADS of comments, that the scythe seems to bend in a weird way, considering how she holds it, it looks like going backwards but then the blade seems to be from side again.
