Probably the one I feel is almost technically flawless out of the three mock-ups. Unfortunately, it feels a bit plain, but I guess that's the nature of the original Mario. Hopefully the intentionally simplistic elements I added in some parts make for a good look. Purist's note: HUD is totally ripped. I wouldn't have done it any other way, so if it's a problem, I'll definitely be willing to strip it off. Check out the sprites for these mock-ups here. And, thank you! The response I got on pixelation was a lot more than what I was expecting. I'm hoping the recipient liked these as much as well.
