Another russian folk character.=)
Palette someway busted, but too tired to figure it out.=) And yeah, light source from the front is coming from paparazzi camera flash - in case someone wondering.. Otherwise have no logical explanation.=)

Fixed a few things here and there for better or worse.
Thank illke for pointing it out.=)

Larwick (Level 8 Regional Boss) @ 1/2/2008 17:11
Happy new year Fool. :)

Doomcreator0 (Level 5 Assistant Manager) @ 1/2/2008 11:14
If you had flashing paparazzi at the bottom. I'm sure that the lighting on it would be brighter. Nonetheless, again, a nice pixel.

PixelSpy (Level 5 Captain) @ 1/2/2008 09:23
Nice to see a different pallete with this piece....Good work

macula (Level 6 Hitman) @ 1/2/2008 08:19
Very nice Baba!

Mil (Level 3 Private Eye) @ 1/2/2008 06:58
I love Babayaga tale ^-^
it's a beautiful work :)

zymn (Level 1 Depressed) @ 1/1/2008 06:16
wow. looks great. a little creepy.

iLKke (Level 9 Nidan) @ 1/1/2008 03:41
My favorite bits are the wooden owl's feet and the bit on the rim where the purple mixes into brown. Also the trees and the fur coat.
Only crits are that the house is maybe too much lit in the lower parts and the shading on the nose and face is not as good as on the rest of the pic.

The colors work pretty good ;D

Stickman (Level 6 SWAT) @ 12/31/2007 12:02
Another great piece work and another fav! It also seems that you went for a more purpley pallete, away from the browns and yellow (not that there's anything wrong with that :)))

Do you scan in your drawings before pixelling? (think I need to start doing that....)

Fool (Level 6 SWAT) @ 12/31/2007 11:03
Thank you, guys, I love you too.=)
Yes,  that is BabaYaga, well, she looked like that the last time we were dating.=)

Milk3, cat's gone, you know cats...

Mash, Myazaki's Howl  was inspired buy walking house from russian tales or so I read.=)
I mean, the walking itself, Diana Jones had not describe that part. (haven't read that one=))

MashPotato (Level 7 Underboss) @ 12/31/2007 10:28
Fool ends the year with a bang!  I'm always a fan of your interpretations of Russian folklore, it suits your organic and whimsical style so well... and this one brings to mind my childhood memories of reading Bony Legs with her house on chicken feet

Happy New Year!

greenraven (Level 1 Gangster) @ 12/31/2007 10:27
Somehow I think your name was poorly chosen.

You've struck gold yet again.

Opacus (Level 7 Ichikyu) @ 12/31/2007 09:21
Damn you!

ZxC (Level 1 Rookie) @ 12/31/2007 09:16
It's so easy to tell a drawing is by you just by looking at the preview lol.
Awesome, the hair right above the head isn't that good in my opinion, but it gets better when going to the left

harmless (Level 1 Jukyu) @ 12/31/2007 08:57
Just brilliant. I really dig this and your last piece, they are the best you have made so far.

Doomcreator0 (Level 5 Assistant Manager) @ 12/31/2007 07:56

Awesome job man.

Khris (Level 1 Thug) @ 12/31/2007 06:58
Ahh, very nice to see you messing a bit more with colors! :P
Good stuff.

mikl3 (Level 7 Sheriff) @ 12/31/2007 06:26
hey, where is black cat from the prewiev? 8-)

mikl3 (Level 7 Sheriff) @ 12/31/2007 06:24
Happy New Year!

DJD (Level 4 Button Man) @ 12/31/2007 06:19
Even though it's easily recognizable to be yours by the preview and obviously the image itself, there's something about this piece that makes me like it much much more than any of your other pieces, as beautiful as they are. Where I've always admired your technique and vision (as do we all) on a personal standpoint I think this is the one piece where I don't say "Good god fool is amazing at placing pixels" but rather "Wow, this is a piece my senses really connect with."

Great job, if anything has deserved the usual 6/6 and a fave it's this one. Please figure out what that special ingredient was and use it again! :D

Acherhar (Level 5 Lieutenant) @ 12/31/2007 05:55
Wow, very, very nice piece, I love the colors as well, and the perspective is very cool.

Squirrelsquid (Level 4 Shichikyu) @ 12/31/2007 05:54
the sky is just beatiful... everything else is awesome too ( that was to be expected, huh? ;)

Mirre (Level 7 Sheriff) @ 12/31/2007 05:41
Yay! Baba Yaga! Love the colours and atmosphere of this piece. Awesome!

Equilibrix (Level 5 Captain) @ 12/31/2007 05:39
Great pixel :-) Baba Yaga was yesterday in our (Czech) TV in "Morozko" (Father Frost) :-) Although it's russian fairy tale, it became probably the most popular fairy tale here and it's on TV every year! :-)

surt (Level 11 Godfather) @ 12/31/2007 03:38
Baba Yaga, yes?
