The awesome thing about pixelart is that since its all done and planned on the pixel level, canvas size is irrelevant to the design. The more one can put into a pixel with the least amount of colors and the most 'stuff' in it, inluding shading, lighting, color choices, technique, etc.. The higher the quality, the more the respect, the more amazing it is. Its the sole reason why a small complete pixelly pixel will always pwn an OTT scene with complex pixelling. In pixelart, less is more, but the more the better. If you don't understand this concept go to fool's gallery and see the puppy animation on there, equal and perhaps even better than some of his more complex pixels.
I sure have learned a lot while I have been on this site. I usually just do these little guyz in my spare moments of art blocks. I did'nt know there was such a science to that small of a canvas. But it does make sense in some ways.
Pillow shading is the LAMEORRZZZ cuz: • Dollers love that light source • It is poor design to have head-on lighting • Computer OS's are lit from the top left down • All software have this auto lighting, thus its CG
