Link to WIP below, I had to compress all the images to fit so that i could animate all of the frames which is why the work in progress images are blurry. I've had this sitting around for a long time and I always put it off, I eventually got irritated working on this so I decided to finish it up and be done with it. :I

EDIT: I got rid of the borders, and brightened the water a bit, sorry for such a small change I've just lost a lot of interest on working this particular peice....

Dino502Run (Level 6 Serial Killer) @ 5/4/2010 18:31

Amazing detail!  This looks awsome

1ucas (Level 5 Soldier) @ 4/4/2010 05:27

Frost (Level 6 Serial Killer) @ 1/19/2010 19:45

Somehow this makes me think of some of H.P Lovecrafts short stories. I think it is the setting and colors. Good job on this one!

Zedeem (Level 1 Depressed) @ 1/16/2010 16:02

So realistic and awesome! Like it like this!

Shrub (Level 1 Rookie) @ 1/1/2010 16:07

Hmm, water looks like rocks or something.

lethaljellybean (Level 1 Rookie) @ 12/29/2009 22:11

That is, truly, a beautiful piece. I love the  way you did the reflection on the water. Great work, keep it up!

Manupix (Level 11 Godfather) @ 12/28/2009 18:07

Beautifully atmospheric. Brings lots of things to mind.

A few composition issues maybe: the tree on the left might be taller, to break the even height; the lake reflection could be much lighter (sky mostly, as in some early wip stages).

I'm not sure the black borders help.

blueleds (Level 1 Rookie) @ 12/27/2009 15:42

Very nice.  I like the fog.

Jabber (Level 3 Private Eye) @ 12/27/2009 08:49

That's incredible. The perspective and colors and shading are awesome... my only nitpick is the sky is really undetailed compared to the rest, and that one big mountain could maybe use some AA around the edge where it hits the sky.

Ipsen (Level 4 Team Leader) @ 12/26/2009 09:41

Looks cool

mickeydonald (Level 2 Thylacine) @ 12/26/2009 07:30

it's like a picture
picture perfecht 10+

Varock Shade (Level 7 Underboss) @ 12/26/2009 03:45

The texture on the hills/mountains doesn't seem very realistic to me somehow... Maybe because the outline of the hills doesn't really match with the pattern on them? Very nice piece still, very nice colours and very relaxing to look at

Pumpkinbot (Level 2 Peon) @ 12/25/2009 23:38

Oh...DAYUM, son! D:

Buddy90 (Level 6 Manager) @ 12/25/2009 23:27

wow, looks like a real painting

Perihelion (Level 5 Assistant Manager) @ 12/25/2009 22:09

Oh, wow, this is gorgeous. Love the colors and the detail and the sense of depth!

JediDude (Level 4 Murderer) @ 12/25/2009 21:05

You are insane. This is epic.

daniel64 (Level 2 Flatfoot) @ 12/25/2009 20:54

Yez, ver beautiful, man wonders, what is this all about. Water more horizontals may increase reflectivity. I cewrtainly like that lil path leding off. The stones to his right I wonder are they man made?

taquito143 (Level 5 Killer Klown) @ 12/25/2009 20:47

Chibi Robo (Level 5 Detective) @ 12/25/2009 20:18

This looks like it took you a week or two (amirite)

Anyways the colors blend wonderfully and it has great shading and realism.

dpixel (Level 9 Vice President) @ 12/25/2009 19:48

Beautiful perspective!  If I could only pixel like this.....but I'm working on it.  Trees, bushes and mountain details are amazing. And those rocks are just crazy!

The only thing that bothers me is the reflection in the water.  Seems like it should be more muted...defused  Even just a slight blue/green color for the water would really send the contrast and mood through the roof.  It kind of looks like and empty pit with some strange mirroring effect for a reflection. Could be just my eye.  Seriously though, this piece is amazing.

EDIT:  Don't listen to those color count nazis

Delicious (Level 9 Boss) @ 12/25/2009 19:46

Beautiful. Absoloutly stunning. Good job.

sharprm (Level 4 Deputy) @ 12/25/2009 19:25

TheFox (Level 1 Seaman) @ 12/25/2009 19:24

Absolutely wonderful. Its a present to my eyes on Christmas :)

Claredeth (Level 4 Shichikyu) @ 12/25/2009 19:06

I'm happy to see it's finally finished, so beautiful.

AdamF (Level 11 CEO) @ 12/25/2009 18:59

onek (Level 6 Hitman) @ 12/25/2009 18:48

thats quite awesome, ver detailed... i love the bushes in front ... compared to the rest, the sky could need some more work tho imo
