You've got dark colors in your palette but you haven't used them anywhere but the eyes. That's a minus.
Well, doesn't quite fit challenge restrictions, but I think this is good enough to go into the gallery...(and thanks for transparifying, by the way!)
Thanks guys, you helped me so much.
Manupix, as I said to skamocore, these "eyes" are just two balls being held by the hands. The rest you can read below.
Really, I usually exagerate with the dithering, I have real problems with it. About the colors, I think that's the hardest part: I don't choose them as well as I could, and I change too many times the shading.
cure, really the only elements that separate it from a real snail are the mouth and the hands, I think. I wanted to animate and so make difference, and I was accomplishing the objective, but I've given up. That's too tiring and boring to do.
Thanks again.
yeah, i think the eye stalks are arms that hold the eyes, like the hairy dude from Aaahh!! Real Monsters.
and he's got a little mouth looking thing... so it's a little different than a real snail.
echoing manu's comments on the dithering. also, hue shifting would make this a lot more interesting. the structure and lighting are pretty good, but the dithering and boring palette kill a lot of the charm.
Well the shell is backwards, that makes it an original creature! ;P
The eyes look like hands too, don't know if it's intentional but nice anyway.
Dithering is well done (small controlled patches) but there's definitely too much of it, it's not needed that much (at all?) and the repetition makes it boring.
Colors are too separate between shell and slime: mix! And more contrast could help too.
Yeah, it could be considered a snail =P (See, my english is too bad)
As I said, I would make an animation. In my plans, this "snail" would leave its "eyes" (they aren't eyes) and slowly turn into a ninja slime, referencing Naruto (do you see the similarity with the Leaf village simbol?). After that, the ninja would make a jutsu and return to the initial form. But I'm really tired and I have a little time, and that's why I said in the topic that I have no chance.
And I said that I "need" to use dithering because I'm not a good pixel artist and I can't handle the colors skillfully.
But, in your opinion, is the piece well pixelled? I really want to improve my skills and I always accept critics and suggestions.
PS: I HATE Naruto.
A snail? It should be an original creature, something that you've come up with yourself, ie. from your own imagination. "Show us your best new and original slimy creature."
Also, why do you NEED to use dithering?
Excuse me
Just doing me some testing, @EdJr.
