rather than give up, you could just submit it to the WIP forum and get critique to improve with. the irregular canvas shape isn't very appealing, I don't think that many shades of red are really necessary for the blood, and the blood has heavy banding. the circle one puts their head in is pretty jaggy, some very light AA could help. the lighting is inconsistent, try to pick a lightsource and shade everything accordingly. This tutorial might be a good read if any of the above terms are unfamiliar, or you want to know a bit more about their application.
