@cure: Thanks again, it's really feeling smoother, and i need to stop with the dithering addiction.
*Note to self: Post on the forum for pratices and reviews, and train more.
much more interesting than just a sphere. I dunno that the dithering is so necessary on the leaf, less dithering might convey its smooth texture better. regardless, a vast improvement.
@Cure: Thanks for the warning about it, i drawed based on the test done on the ball a nut, but personally, i need to train more with drawing leaves to fix the shape and shading.
We'll let the queue voting decide this of course, but it seems to me, as you said, like a test. Practice, and not a finished gallery piece. I think it's great practice, and I agree that you were successful, and it looks good. But I wouldn't get into a habit of submitting all your practice pieces to your gallery.
You could always modify this so that it's more than a geometric shape. Since it looks like a nut, you could add the subtle ridge in the middle that separates the two halves, or even have a little green sprout coming out of the top.
I like the colours you choose for the nut, nice and bright, but compared to those, the leaf looks a bit dull.
