The Justin Kauflin House: The Charity House to benefit the Tidewater Builders Association's Scholarship Foundation; The Riverfront at Harbour View in Suffolk, VA
Built by Clark Whitehill Enterprises
"In 2004, the Scholarship Foundation awarded Kauflin, a graduate of Salem High School, an academic scholarship. Kauflin was chosen as the namesake because he exeplifies the commitment and perseverance of those who receive the award, many of whom have overcome major life challenges on the road to academic excellence.
Justin was nurtured with classical training in violin and piano. From age six, he began performing in public. He also endured numerous trials, including losing his vision by a rare eye disease at age 11.
Justin switched to jazz piano and began performing professionally by age 15. He graduated in the top 1 percent of Salem High's and Governor's School for the Performing Arts' class of 2004.
He went on to graduate summa cum laude with a degree in music/jazz performance from William Paterson University, where he was taken under the wings of the great Clark Terry, winner of 2010's Grammy for Lifetime Achievement in Jazz."

Something about the texturing and shading on this piece pleases me very much.
