Lots of technical issues here. The torso feels flat because of the way it’s shaded, it reveals nothing about his anatomy and thus looks like he’s wearing a red paper bag. The hands need work, the fingers are usually more articulated on the free hand, and certainly no one dribbles with a fist. The basketball should be larger and less squished, I understand that it will compress a bit when it hit’s the ground but this just looks strange. The figure lacks ears. Black outlines are inconsistently used, which flattens the piece. The foreshortening needs work, the (upper) leg on our left should be dramatically smaller given the size of the foot on the right, but instead that leg is actually larger than the leg on our right. The folds in the shirt are completely arbitrary and don’t relate to the underlying volumes in any apparent way. Make sure to use references when making art, this is a subject that should have plentiful photo references available.
