 to be honest I think the pencil levitates because you didnt want to do the animation of him walking. Remember pixel art = patience

I think the colors work well together. They have plenty of contrast but aren't glaring.

The .3 second delay between each frame is too long, it makes everything look like it's moving very slowly. I tried .1 and .07 second delays and it was moving at a much more comfortable rate.
