Man, this is just incredible! I'm amazed on how you worked the trees and stones.
Still there's two little things: the girl's anatomy looks weird, the dress she is wearing dont make it much clear, but there's a difference btween his arms and legs. arms should be a bit shorter (and thiner) or legs a bit larger (unless the rock she is standing in had a slope to the opposite side of the viewer, but since this side is horizontal it doesn't look so). Also the woods feathers in what seems to be day's fog. I dont really think it's working for a sunset unless it's some sort of enchanted woods that has his own luminance.
..Or probably i''m just envious, you are a great pixel artist and the entire work is stuning, hahaha.

Lovely as always, and even though the people are the focal point I feel as though your preview should have been focused on the great rock/foilage detail. Honestly, I couldn't even tell it was yours from the preview, but instantly knew it once I saw the cliffing.
I'm in love with the rocks most out of the whole scene but this is one epic piece, and the contrast between the characters and the right of it balance it nicely. In a game or animation you could see this being panned across nicely. The curve of the rock to where the people are helps guide the eye there too imo, <3 this

Dayum. I thought I had the slightest chance at this one; how overly optimistic of a thought. This is gorgeous work... So vivid. I too really like the rocks.
This is awesome- the colors, the depth. I really like the rocks, no matter how unrealistic they are.
The only thing I think could use work is the way the girl's hair and dress flow.
The way her hair splits at the end makes it look ragged; I would make most the hair flow into one piece, or have the parts of her hair divide earlier near her head.
As for her dress, the bottom of the skirt is a flat, horizontal line making it look very stiff. The wind would make it blow behind her and layer the cloth. The hemline should vary in levels.
You're a shoo-in, either way!

Unfortunately there aren't any wip files. Tried it a few times to create one of these progress GIFs, but it's just bothersome to managing that. The only thing that I have is a sketch for getting a rough idea what i was doing. And yes I flipped that image afterwards, looked better to me.
But frankly, i don't think I use any special technique ;).
