Yeah this is an older piece so there's a whole bunch of issues with it, and you're right about the depth thing for sure 8 ))

Late comment (not seen this before): very interesting piece, even though I can't really guess what I'm looking at. Upside-down theater masks?

I wish you'd rework this and clear up the visual priorities. For instance, the 'masks' seem huge and faraway because clouds, yet they look nearer than the pillar thing because of their higher contrast.
