Yeah, a couple of mine were declined a while ago too. I'm still upset about it.
Koto, I'm not anyone important in this case but I would question whether or not it's the QR code that you pixeled in as a signature.
From the looks of the previews I see nothing wrong from the two that were declined however I'm wondering if that is the case in which scenario it probably isn't helping the pieces get accepted. It's also a little difficult to tell without seeing the detail files with the zoom function on PixelJoint =/.
Two of my pixel art works were declined with the following: 'Pieces must exhibit intentional pixel placement over the entire image. Scribbles, unrefined drawings, careless "spray tool" effects, uncorrected color reductions, uncontrolled anti-aliasing, etc, will be denied entry into the gallery. Note that it is possible to have intentionally messy pixel placement and such cases may be allowed into the gallery.'
I confirm, that every pixel it that works is placed intentionally and all the antialiasing is done by hand. What do I have to do in order to get these works approved?
One of them is my avatar I would like to use on PixelJoint forum, by the way.
I only get logged out when I log in on another device/browser. Which is still very very annoying, but I don't think there is a fix :(
Is anyone else getting logged off of your account all the time? It used to be that I'd log in and then stay logged in forever unless I cleared my cookies or something. But now I'm logging in again every time I open the browser even if I check 'stay logged in.' I'm wondering if it's a problem on my end or if other people have the same issue.
Hi Diogalesu, this can be done, once. Send me a private message with your requested name change and we'll arange it!
Can admins change usernames of anyone on pixel joint upon request?
Hoenstly been wondering this as of late since my username on a majority of other sites has changed but if it isn't already clear that users can't really do this on their own so can't really do much on my end there.
Still, we watch out for not having 2 pieces from the same artist on the front page at the same time.
The limit is no longer in the rules. Often when these kinds of large numbers come in it is easy to approve a whole bunch at once, and then not leave them on the front page for too long!
Also a glitch in the admin panel prevents mods from approving old works in the queue if the list gets too long, so this is a quick solution to be able to access the pieces that have been waiting for longer again :)
Pretty sure it was 5 per person per day. Also, I remember when I was a mod, it, um, kind of ended up being a bit of a flexible number when someone had submitted a lot of things in a day...
What happened to the max 4 accepted images per day limit?
@Jinn
I was wondering why Fixel Joint worked on Chrome after I press the "send feedback" option at the bottom.
Turns out it changes the site URL to "http" when I do it and it starts working. Mystery solved lol.
Right. I see those nearly every day, but I think I must have developed some kind of blindness for them...
Eye of the Beholder is free on GOG:
https://www.gog.com/game/forgotten_realms_the_archives_collection_one
Yeah, but only if you use "http" instead of "https". So some links break the extension, unfortunately.
As for the bot, it shows when someone comment/reply/fav a piece.

Hahaha
Where is that thing still being used, btw?
Also, I just noticed that fixeljoint does still work on chrome, in case you're interested!
That being the case, pls pls pls pls make this
a thing! pls pls pls!
Just a tiny announcement: With some more time on my hands these days, I've been asked to return on the mod team. So you'll probably see me around some more again!
Speaking of underground PJ graphs, I miss those juicy halloween trophies
Yeah I totally agree with that, reminds me of Karateka lol.
Still dig the little karate dudes. Can certainly picture then moving in a rotoscope-like way, like out of this world or something.
And this would be what you'd get for winning the monthly top:

PJ has come a loooongg way :p
Now we need to revamp this little dude:

Yep, deleting cookies helps. Now it's bright and clean. (on Firefox)
Cleaning downloaded cached images and files from Chrome seems to fixed it for me.
Now the icon looks nice and clean.
That's a shame :( After FixelJoint, I can't stand browsing PJ Vanilla anymore.
Unrelated, is there a way to make Fixel Joint work on Brave?
Omitting the 24x24 helped. Who knows why. Browsers constantly changing. fml
Yay! ![]()
(Using Brave it worked right away in Win7, but in Win10 I had to clear the cache)
I have had a ton of icon issues in the past, making a bunnch of different icon sizes for my game's exe. And then it still behaves in a way I don't expect. It's a pain.
balls. Tried again and you're right - the ICO in use is the new one. Glad you pointed that out. Gotta love browser caching.
Checked Opera. Thought it was maybe scaling/cropping the 32x32 PNG to create the botched 16x16.
Try nixing the PNGs altogether. Remove them from the equation. I'm not aware of any devices that require them and can't just use the standard ICO.
Here's another ICO with the 24px version removed. Hacky, but maybe it'll solve the issue.
!fun with favicons!
You forgot to hard refresh the favicon ico, it is the new ico definitely. Where else would it get the cropped version from?
24x24 version hasn't been implemented - only 16, 32, and 96. This means devices/browsers have less choices to pick from and may have to choose the "next best" choice, which will result in bilinear scaling.
Here's what I did with the new favicon image when outputting the new final files for the site to use:
--new PJ icon sheet--
These are the standard icon sizes you can expect to be used by various devices (more if the icon is to be used in Windows system trays, due to UI scaling settings). Some sizes are used more than others. When you want to be thorough and ensure all users see the correct icon you should output each of these sized so the device can properly decide.
(sorry not trying to be mr. knowledge dropper here, for some god awful reason I got into web development so I happen to know this stuff)
Problem is server side. There's some confusion with the files used.
--A quick look at the page source--
1) Lines 12,13,14 - new PNG icon files are in use. Might as well add the other 6 if the favicon is being handled with individual PNG files.
2) Line 18 - Still using old blurry favicon. This ICO file only contains a 16x16. The new ICO file I uploaded contains all 9 sizes.
3) Line 19 - Wrong format extension used so link is broken. If manually changed to GIF, the image does exist, but is using the oldie.
I don't know how pixeljoint.com is administrated so I can't really give good specific recommendations.
I'm guessing it has some sort of primitive custom CMS.
But, I would try removing the PNG favicons (lines 12-14) and using only the new ICO file - it has all 9 sizes embedded in it.
I am having the same issue with Chrome Version 83.0.4103.97 (Official Build) (64-bit).
That sucks, its the 24x version scaled down to 16x >.<.
I'm no expert, but it seems like the 24x version was not uploaded individually, however it is packaged in the .ico file so it must be from there. Why would your chrome and opera prefer the 24x version and then scale it down?

Hi koto_O; I never get into public discussions but since you asked publicly, I'll answer in the same manner. The ones that I rejected, this and this have clear signs of photographic color reduction. I know you probably passed over every pixel manually but still it's a color reduced photograph and it's very much visible.
This was me answering as the mod.
As a person who's been pixelling since the end of 80s, I've gone through the same thing when I came to Pixeljoint 10 years ago. I thought placing a new pixel on a non-pixel art image would make it pixel art. That didn't help me getting any better at pixel art and now that I look at it, they add nothing to my gallery or the site itself.
What do you need to get your pieces accepted here? Make normal pixel art, don't paint over photographs. You may be angry with us now, you may just quit PJ or pixel art all together, but if you keep pixelling, there's a chance you'll thank us one day as I did Jalonso and the other old moderators.
