It's the end of the International Year of Forests; so, to close things off for the year, this week's challenge is to create an image depicting at least one dead tree.

Canvas Size - Max 200 x 200.
Colours - Max 32.
Transparency - No.
Animation - Optional.

Numbers and symbols often end up as an afterthought when it comes to fonts. So, let's turn the tables and make some 'fonts' that exclusively feature numbers and symbols.

You must include all of the following characters:

1234567890
!?@%&


You may optionally include other symbols, but any additional symbols must appear on the standard US keyboard layout. Do not include any letters though.

Canvas Size - Unrestricted.
Colours - Min 4.
Transparency - Optional.
Animation - Optional.

My Brother and I (SharkArm Brothers) have just finished our latest indie game project called "The Chicken Bandit" and it is now available on Android.  All of the artwork was pixelled by me and the coding was done by my brother.  The Chicken Bandit is an action game that has you robbing trains, battling robots, and lassoing as much loot as you can. You can check out the website and the trailer at these links!

This year allegedly marks the 35th anniversary of the original Colossal Cave Adventure - the first text adventure/interactive fiction and progenitor of the adventure game genre.

So, the challenge this week is to make a pixel art interpretation of the game's opening lines:
 

YOU ARE STANDING AT THE END OF A ROAD BEFORE A SMALL BRICK BUILDING.
AROUND YOU IS A FOREST. A SMALL STREAM FLOWS OUT OF THE BUILDING AND
DOWN A GULLY.
