From Andrew McClure comes Jumpman, a maddeningly fun platformer that starts out simple but becomes increasingly mind-boggling the farther you progress.

Also, no concealing extra words.

The comic must have at least 3 panels.

Canvas Size - Unrestricted.
Colours - Unrestricted.
Transparency - Optional.
Animation - No.

Colors -  Unrestricted.
Animation - Exactly 8 frames. Each frame must be 1/10th of a second.

Derek Yu has released a new game called "Spelunky". It's still in the beta stage, but perfectly playable and he's offered a download on his website.

According to his description:

"Spelunky is my latest game project, a hybrid of two genres of games that I enjoy - the roguelike and the platformer. The idea partly came from playing around with both genres separately. It was like I baked two different kinds of pies and then I stepped back and looked at them and finally just mashed them both together. Does it taste good? I leave that to the reader to decide."

Check it out.

What would The Dark Knight look like if it was a NES game, and not a Batman movie?

Find out here ;)

Its a fake NES game intro, made by an animator called Macbee.
I found a few of the image, and I expect them to be very good reduxes, not pixel art, but still its fun to watch :)

The latest entry in the blog Games Aren't Numbers poses some questions regarding Pixel Art, including the ever interesting question of what defines Pixel Art and what's its place.

Share some knowledge, folks!

This awesome little tool created by DreamRunner lets you see how many colours your peice has and sorts them into a nice little PNG file.

http://2ddr.com/index.php?prime=sortpal Clicking on this link will take you to a page where you enter the URL for your image and then simply click sort and then just wait for the sorting to be sorted. Currently, it seems as though it only works correctly for .gif images.

After a few rounds of casual debugging of the forum I finally figured out why people were not able to login into the forum even with a valid gallery login... the damn forum was case insensitive which was screwing up the password hash.  The bug has finally been fixed, but you'll need to reset your password if you have a mixed case password.

I apologize to all you security-minded people who created strong passwords.
