Me main man Blueberry_pie just put together some awesome pixel art smiles for the forum (haven't posted them on the gallery site yet). It's only appopriate that we use pixel art smiles for a pixel art site eh?

Thanks Blueberry_pie!

A couple of the site peeps at Pixel Joint will be off for a little bit... I'm off to Jamaica today and won't be back for a week. The_keller has been in Japan for a couple weeks staying with his sister-in-law's family (how awkward is that?) and I don't know when he'll be back.

If you need anything you can post on the forum and hopefully another helpful pixel artist can help you out.

Just yesterday, I decided to take a look at the latest Ptoing and Helm collab work. What I saw, instead, was gay porn. I logged in and did a search for some posts and found nothing; the whole board had been cleared out by the hacker.

The temporary board is Ptoing's and you can find it here. You can also find a chat transcript with the hacker here.

If you have visited Pixelation yesterday, during the Gay Porn stage, please run both a Virus and a Spyware scan, since those have been leaked to visitors by Soopcan.

"never rely on outdated free software," he says, which is apparently a good thing to remember when starting a message board.

Added a pixeltees link for member profiles and for individual pieces. Now you can link all your Pixel Joint pieces directly to the corresponding pixeltee. Hopefully they'll make a t-shirt size that covers my massive pythons so I can wear some of the fine pixel art out there.

Enjoy!

Well, everything cool has happened. Iwata, president of Nintendo, has announced that the Nintendo DS will be online (via the nick "noline" since it will use Wi-Fi) and a new trailer for the Legend of Zelda was released. Lots of fun!

Check it!

A collaborative art project. The link speaks for itself. Very cool.

Edit: This was first posted 10/17/2004, but it's worth another post because it's such a fine collaboration

ThePixelChick created a lovely Flash Memory game for all to enjoy. It's a suprisingly difficult game to play especially if you're a bonehead like me. Check it out in the brand new games section.

If you have a pixel art game you would like to offer for download (finished games only) please let us know.

Some bored people have taken pixel art out of the box, so to speak.

Check it out

We're still working out some minor bugs so please PM me (sedgemonkey) directly if you run into any issues. It's not fully integrated with PixelJoint yet so you have to login to the forum even if you're logged in here. Fortunately it does use the same login and password.

Hope all you pixel pushers enjoy the new forum!

There have been several complaints about the login system here at Pixel Joint so we will be getting rid of the separation of "Handle" and "User Name" and combining them into one field. What this means for you...

Whatever your "Handle" is now (ex. sedgemonkey, the_keller, iSTVAN) is what your login will be when logging into the site. You don't have to do anything... the changes will happen automatically sometime in the next week.

Currently some members are using their email address or something totally random for their login and that is why everyone is getting so confused. Even using the new password retrieval system isn't working because people don't remember what their login is.

We plan on rolling out this particular change by next Monday at the latest so please post any gripes here.

(warning : slightly soapboxish, sorry :-P)

Creative Commons offers an easy way to choose a personalized license for your work (You can get little pieces of html to stick on your page).

It makes it easier for people to reuse your art (on websites, or in video games) without having to bug you about it. And it makes it easier for you to chose who can do what with which picture.

What would you think about being releasing some of your work here under a Creative Commons license ? (I'm interested in any feedback)
