What do you expect when people gather to develop tools for better math teaching? Boredom. But the people from the Illuminations Project have some interesting tools to play around with. The isometric drawing tool for instance might be interesting for some of the iso fans, you can rebuild an optical illusions or make your cube scrab. Java needed.

A funny tool to arrange isometric characters in walking animations, path generation, collision handling, demo looks quite nice, but its quite expensive as well.

BlockCAD is a funny tool for building virtual models with Lego-like bricks. If you are one of those who never could afford such toys, you are now able to build your models using your PC.

Pixel by using a computer is cool, but the idea of putting blocks on a raster is an old childgame! For 40 years a small company sells a game, which  is called ministeck. Check the company page www.ministeck.de  to get an idea of the purest way of pixeling or check the ministeck simulator to ministeck online.

Lots of people feel inspired by movies and computer games, but instead of just pixeling Sakakibara Kikai simply build a real kind of mechwarrior thing. The machine looks nice and the neigbours will start to greet you for sure. Videos can be found on the product website.

Hooray for pixel graphics in child toys, but is PixelChix  the promotion that pixel artists waited for? "Charming" monochrome pixel graphics on plastic toys for young girls combined with several animations and sound. Visit the product page, watch the tv spot and form your own opinion.

Across europe during October? Dont miss the 8th Contemporary Art Fair at the Congressional Center of Zurich. Drawing, paintings, sculptures, light installations, young korean art ... although there seems to be no pixel art , it might be an interesting visit. Details.

A lot of Mario Bros. stuff has been submitted to the gallery.  It looks like video games are everyones favourite.  Some patient dude rebuilt many classic game maps, nice for remembering and inspiration.

Another artist started a kind of community collab. He offers an image and asks his page visitors to place one of the 197138 pixels. Kind of cool: The palette is limited to 16 colors. Whatever is going to grow there, it will probably take some time. Maybe it will develop faster if you help.
