Whoo.
It's finally done. You're very own iSTVAN (going by his real name, Ivan) has released his brand spanking new website for the superhero black comedy 'Black Hole.' You may have seen some images for the 'Black Hole: The Game That Sucks.' This is where it all began...

You can read the first episode, view non pixel related art, read about me and the other co-creator and lots of other neat stuff.

Check it out!

Special thanks to Jonathon Smeby for designing the site.

Old news perhaps, but this little website is a delight for anyone who's a fan of the comedy of Ricky Gervais aka David Brent from award winning British comedy The Office.

Read all about Gervais' 80's new romantic band 'Seona Dancing' and listen to a couple of sample tunes. It's great just to see the photo comparison. Ricky looks more like David Bowie than David Brent!

A new indy game from the creator of 'A Game with a Kitty' . This time Bernie brings us the oddball adventures of 'Cedric and the Revolution.' It features nicely pixelled character sprites and a really brilliant story- check it out!

Check out these interesting creations by artist David Chatt. They're three dimensional sculptures of everyday objects and figures made entirely from tiny glass beads, interestingly enought they sort of resemble pixel art (if you squint and cover your eyes). My personal favourite is number 9 of 12.

Thanks goes to my girlfriend Justine for spotting these.

What a brilliant contest. Sci Fi Channel is looking for people to dress up as their own original super hero characters for a new TV show. The winner gets fame and glory as well as getting to have their own comic book produced by Marvel Comics under Stan Lee.

"Finalists will leave their former lives behind and live as their brainchild heroes 24/7, all under Stan Lee’s watchful eye.  Each week, our aspiring heroes will be challenged with competitions designed to test their true Superhero abilities. "

If only I lived in America. I'd be able to dress up as my own hero Black Hole (plug intended).

Indie game maker Bernie, responsible for 'Cedric and the Revolution,' 'A Game with a Kitty' and its recent sequel, has just released his a new game entitled 'Reactor 09.' It's an adventure game that revolves around a convicted murderer in a high security futuristic prison and the anal prison guard employed to reform him.

It deals with slightly more adult themes than Bernie's previous games, but there are still plenty of delicious pixel graphics to appease all your pixel needs. The game makes use of an innovative ‘trust’ system that determines the outcome of play.

Download the game here and support the indie gaming industry!

Sydney is a bum. And he's a bum with a problem. A new policy set in place by a joint venture between the political parties, churches and big businesses to rid the streets of homelessness and unemployment sparks the catalyst for this adventure game.
Part comedy and partially a message to the public about the problems on the streets, SFE is a highly entertaining and visually appealing adventure in a style long forgotten by modern gaming.
With story, coding and graphics by Ivan Dixon (aka iSTVAN aka me) and music by Steve Larabie (aka PB aka Pixel Blink), this is an all out pixel joint admin showcase! Not to mention it features 100% pixel graphics.

Download it here!

Are you looking to waste a few hours running around a pixel fantasy land?

Well indie game maker Nifflas might have just what you're after. He makes addictive adventure games that are largely based around exploration. The majority of the artwork is rendered in very simple pixel art. Nifflas' latest release, Knytt Stories, is a compilation of several smaller games.

Well worth the download.

A contest by the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, where the artists were limited to using a single sheet of paper, has sparked some impressive results. Not quite pixel art, but certainly minimalist.

Check out the entries here.
