I'll be lining up for it after a few months or so if it's still getting raves. Unless I get to experience it first hand around launch and am blown away by the experience, of course.

I'm really hoping I can eventually have both a PS3 and a Wii.

It's always new to someone. ;-)

Oddly enough I have not tried it out myself as of yet. When I first saw it through a video, I didn't believe it!

I went to high school in lower Manhattan (where the WTC was, if you didn't know) so I was fairly close to it. The school evacuated with request from the police department next to my school in fear that if the buildings fell, we would be in trouble. But I didn't walk away from the WTC until the first building fell (and then I ran). I watched because it was the only thing I could do. People would say to each other, "Wow, look at all that smoke .. and that stuff falling out of the windows." Though if you looked close enough, that 'stuff' was actually .. people. You have to wonder how much pain a person would be in so that they decide "It's better for me to jump to my death from a hundred stories up onto the concrete rather than stay here". How horrible is that.

I will never forget.

RIP all those that lost their lives minus those that were selfish to take planes and drive them into buildings filled with innocent mother and fathers and children.

If you would have told me that they had furry lobsters, my first thought was to say that, "Aww, that would be pretty cute!" But after looking at it and coming to my senses, it's distrubing and downright freaky!

More fun looking at the SQUARES output than the LETTERS for me for some reason. Neat.

Borat is a classic character. Hope the movie does well. I'll probably get it on DVD though.

You could stare at this thing for several minutes, come back an hour later, and still find something else to stare at that you missed before!

Look at that little one (technically two) on the tip of Africa. Interesting to look at. Lots 'o goods ones where I live.

I've always wanted to go to E3 -- never had the chance! One of the things I want to do before I pass!

Used to read DS on a regular basis back in the day. Not so much any more nowadays for reasons unknown to me is it is rather stylish and quirky. It gets a thumbsup from me overall! :D

Every single katamari I see, the more it makes me want to throw the 'ol KD into the PS2. Another darn creative katamari.

Heh -- just realized it does mention pixel art .. doh!

halfliquid @ 3/1/2006 14:19 commented on Red Halo Marine
Hah! For the record, in the interview I spoke a lot about what pixel art is and how pixelists require both talent and patience and all that jazz (as in, how it's easy to get started with it because all you need is a basic paint-ish program that has a pencil tool, yet still hard to master and offers lots of progression). But what was more important to the angle of the article is how dA affected me artistically, personally, obviously.

Honestly did put a lot of emphasis on pixel art as, well, an art in general. Pixel art, the genre, was not even mentioned by name once in the article ("pixel by pixel" was -- but still!).

Was fun though!

I'm glad that someone put everyones two favorite pastimes together! Oh, wait -- it's just a satirical play at this Mr. Kennedy fellow, of whom I knew nothing about until I read the wiki! Heh -- jolly good though. Definately digging both the animation and the pixel work.

I think it might have been a one-man project -- so I won't be nitpicky about the quality!

Oh wait -- nevermind. The 'zombies' are in the the (hell of sand) version.

halfliquid @ 1/17/2006 14:49 commented on Princess Fiona (Ogre)
When I first stumbled across the Falling Sand Game, it easily took hours of productivity away from me. Even started playing it at work. (I built a little structure and had it running in the background, heh.) It's a lot of fun, no doubt.

They had a mod for it with zombies and stuff (don't have the link with me). But it was generally the same game. The zombies just roamed.

I'm afraid to try the other games!

The only one from that list that I did not recall was the "7. Blogger sits out Hurricane Katrina in office building" one.

There are so many "top 2005" lists out there -- but I think the 'podcast' movement is a pretty narly one. I love downloading things like TWiT, diggnation, and things like the Ricky Gervais Show (guy from UK's "Office") from Guardian Unlimited, just listening to them on my player.

Is it me or do they shrink the cities so that you can't get a look at the pixeling in a clear manner? Probably so people don't print their own, hmm. Wish I could take a looker at it full view.
