Hey, thanks for the kind words Mambazo, but don't let it discourage you... I see that you are just a Rookie like me! Stick around long enough and you'll be able to uselessly criticize people and you'll suddenly find that you are more able to narrow your mind to a fine point and harness more of the lesser human traits that our friend DawnBringer and some of the "higher ups" are more proficient at. I myself have learned a lot from this site so far! If you need help becoming more of a worthlessly negative and one-dimensional person than feel free to use this template for a while until you get the hang of it: "That's (positive comment here)! But (explain why it's shitty and awful here). Really (inauthentic positive comment here) though!" Eventually you'll be able to get to the point where you can comment without including the positive elements as well, but it will take some time! Good luck!

*Sigh*  Yes... yes I realize that there is not a uniform perspective in this picture...

Man, you guys can be exhausting sometimes!

Did you ever think that maybe the pixel version of myself is actually just plummeting to earth in some manner of zero gravity free-fall after being carried up into the upper realms of the atmosphere by a tornado... and the image being seen here is me frantically trying to make a final piece of art before I die and as a result everything is just floating wildly through the air, and/or breaking apart and just doing whatever it wants to do? I guess my real flaw was in not illustrating the sense of panic and impending doom... but hey, what can I do... a man's gotta keep a calm head in these kinds of situations. I mean, I wouldn't want my final piece of art to look hastily made! Fortunately, the house has a gas generator so even when the power lines were cruelly ripped from the house, I was able to continue using the computer. Oh, and what appears to be a window to the outside world on the left is really just a painting of a window... the real window is in the upper right corner and all you can see is the crazy amount of debris floating around everywhere because the tornado is just that out of control! I mean, it would have to be right? To pick up a whole house I mean...

I hope that resolves the perspective crisis.

First off, this comment/reply is likely to sound all kinds of defensive... because I am feeling very defensive...  though I do appreciate any help as I am extremely new to the world of pixel art. The fact of the matter is that I just like old video games, and as such I decided to make a comic that used a very small amount of pixels. I only found out that there was a community of "pixel artists" after the fact.

Each panel of the strip IS made at the pixel level and consists of 32X32 pixels. The panels are then enlarged and put together on the "comic strip template". The font being used was found on some type of "font site" and was chosen because I liked how it looked, and I still do despite your insistence that it is "pretty ugly". And yes, it was saved as a JPEG and all of the strips I have made for my website have been saved as JPEGs thus far. I converted the JPEG to a GIF for this site, and I have a feeling that there are all kinds of reasons why I shouldn't use JPEGs but I am, as yet, uneducated in these matters. As for the text and white bg being unnacceptable, well, that's why I didn't post full strips up at first I just posted individual panels, but other members suggested that I should put up full strips so I did.

Also, for whatever it's worth, I believe the panels for this strip were only the 10th, 11th, and 12th pixel images that I attempted... and also, for what it's worth, as I continue to make more and more panels I have to say that I haven't really improved that much! Ha ha ha...

Go Lo-Ku!

Yeah, sorry about the flooding! I'm still getting the hang of this site... jalonso is doing his best to walk me through it, but I'll get there! Part of why I was/am just putting up single frames is that a lot of people that visit the Lo-Ku site aren't really into pixel art specifically, and for what it's worth I'm pretty proud of some of the frames I do for Lo-Ku. Basically I just wanted to share some frames as "art" in and of themselves, but I will probably start posting some strips and also posting some of the pictures in groups so as to not flood the gallery! Great to already get some feedback from people, I'm really diggin' this site so far!
