The whole thing is completely traced, including the shading. And the palettes not very good.

Not too hard to animate this, just make the white exhaust flames flicker.

That's how the pros do it.

OK, I removed the bg so no problem anymore. I also smoothed out the heads movement and unpinned the end of the tail. Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

Well, Slym asked me to make these for his tileset, so consider it a collaboration.

My gif maker can't make transparent backgrounds, and I didn't want to just have a white bg. I can remove it if it's against the rules.

No it's not very good, it's a rush job and was clarified as such. It doesn't follow the artistic style set by the pokemon games, and I did that on purpose.

But thanks for your "constructive" criticism.

I was about to say how bad your palette is, until I realized that it's only RGB+Black... Which is pretty cool.

My comments on the art (not the artist).

There's a lot of unnecessary movements that make the sprite unreadable. The shirt flapping on the left shoulder and all those funky movements in that thing in the background are incredibly distracting and break up the characters form. And lining up the hand with the lapel of the shirt pretty much makes it disappear. It's also got a major pulse to it that makes it look like a very unnatural movement. Instead of having a nice jumping temp of [up,hang... down, absorb...up,etc]. it just goes updownupdownupdown.

Basically, everything's moving around too much and in too many different directions, and at an improper rhythm.

Again, not about the artist, about this 2 year old art.

Reminds me of Jurassic Park for Sega Genesis. I love the trees in the BG.
