Nice going! The hardest step is always trying something new.

There are some guides on how to make smooth curves in pixel art but in mostly revolves around making sure that the count of pixels changes in a predictable pattern.

As a side note: good way to check colors is to turn your canvas black and white and see if the image still reads properly. If you do this then you'll notice that her blushing cheeks and lower portion of her eyes kind of melt together instead of being directly visible as two different things. This is usually super important at lower pixel sizes as things need to be very readable.

With such bubbly texture in the leaves maybe the outline should follow similar texture as well to have a bit more cohesion. You kept the detailing at a good level and I like how the trunk looks like. Great job overall
