Pretty great for a first attempt, honestly. Love the TV only having the black outline outside of the sand, but I feel like the same should apply to the guy, too, only outlining the bits outside of the sand's profile. I also assume that the head was supposed to be more lumpy toward the right side to imply facing one way/hint at the face, but the pose expresses that well enough, I feel. Other than that though, again, really nice first pixel!

The animation is pretty fluid and the chest itself looks great, but the gold rim switching perspective in the last frame looks really unnatural. It straightens out entirely rather than looking like it curves back inward, or curves at all. Other than that, good submission!

Reminds me a lot of the chicken-things in Proteus. Very cute! The animation blending on the head is really good, and like Connor said, the bouncy crest is great.

The beak seems a little bit flat - the light source doesn't distribute evenly on it, so it looks very two-dimensional until the curve. Also, the one black pixel right at the beginning of the underside of the curve makes the transition look really jagged at normal size. Good AA work otherwise, especially on the little head feather, and the area around the eyes looks fantastic.

Just playing this recently and forgot how much I liked the character design! Very good AA work on the lips and eyes, although it does make the lack of AA on the tongue stand out a bit. Overall really cute and true to the character, though!

I figured I'd let them stand on their own, basically. While they do go together in a way, they have a lot of different things going on in them that need critiquing independently, so I thought they should probably be separate so that they can be taken on their own.

Funny that you should mention pairing them though – I actually made them both for a banner gif, but since I animated the gif with Photoshop's skew, it's not really something I could upload here. If I ever 'remaster' it by hand-animating the rotation it'll definitely get an upload, though.

Thanks much for your feedback, by the way!

Fantastic AA. On first glance it read as a polygon work instead of pixel and that in itself is really impressive.
