I wanted to imply multiple colors in the cloth, and sometimes I like to call attention to the grid with a sharp color transition, I think it maintains some interest. If I have a color that is similar in saturation/value and I think the warmth or hue will add interesting dimension, I often just throw it in for some texture.

The colors are beautiful, and you've deliberately exaggerated some of the curves of her spine but it works and reminds me of early 20th century illustrations, maybe something like a tarot card.
