Also the top of the head is rather flat. Add some depth and highlights to the eyes to male them come out alive.

As you become more skilled you learn to use less colors and less pixels but a challenge like this really speeds up the process. You have to learn first how 2 colors interact, then slowly build up. Also there is style involved here, sometimes you go for the simpler look given by a few colors. Great work!
