hi guys, decided to come back to pixeling again so i wanted to make a little UFO.

now i like this little thing and am pretty happy with the shape i guess... but my one problem is lighting. i was NEVER any good at it and i am still not... therefore if you see any lighting problems pleeeeeease point those out. also just general critique is very welcome. basically, please c + c. thank you!

I've certainly seen worse lights ;)

You have good reflections, a cast shadow, you miss a gradient in the main color.
Also, the reflections show the light source has some extent, so the cast shadow should not be so sharp.

The glass reflection on the left side can only be on the back side (because obviously no light comes from the left), so it should not go down so far and it might even be bluish, since that light has crossed the glass twice.

ahh thank you manupix... to be honest i had NO idea what i was doing haha... i just sort of copied something that came up in google images when i searched 'glass dome' :P
but what do you mean by the light source has some extent? i tried to make the shadow blurrier a bit but i dunno not really lol... i dont really know what you mean ehehehe ^_^;
but for the glass reflection on the left side, do you mean like that? tried to make it darker but wasnt sure if a light should be dark haha and its sort of losing its placement... i tried to take it out but it looked imbalanced so...

also added another color; was confused by what you meant when you said i missed a gradient... did you mean another color? >_> lol

It shouldn't move in theory but looks a little odd stationary. The AA at the bottom of the saucer isn't really working, it's still jaggy.

You should make the lighting move too or at least redraw them on the second frame.

Funny anim!
The shadow on the ground should be somewhere to the left if you want to be realistic, but it's nice too as it is. And yes, the reflections must move too.

Gradient: yes, I mean one or two new colors; a lighter shade of brown next to the reflection, a darker shade next to the shadow.

blurry shadow: that would need yet another dark shade, just a few pixels around the shadow; at this scale it's probably not really necessary. Extent of light source: a point source would make point reflections and a sharp shadow.
This is the case in strong sunlight or inside light with one bare bulb.
Here, the reflections are not points, so the light source is somewhat wider.

The inside reflection looks good.

I don't have anything to say about the colouring, but I think the animation would look better a titch slower.
