Ok, so i'm working on a full body image of Vincent Valentine from FFVII. I'm about half way, maybe a little less, and i really like it so far. I'm just having a little difficulty on the metal claw. Any advice would be appreciated.

I think it's a mistake to approach it as you are. You need to get a rough form of his entire body, then add in the details and refine it. Otherwise he will look disjointed and stiff and weird.

Agree. There is already a perspective inconsistency between the head and arm, it can only get worse.
If you haven't already, make a lot of quick sketches on paper to survey these issues and try to find a good pose, it's faster than pixels. Scan and upload them too. |
