![]() Topic: Looking for a MentorPosted: 06 December 2013 at 10:45am |

Hey guys, i've been doing some art for games for a while now, and recently i thought about giving up and deleted all i had made (some pretty good pieces), because i was lost.
Im giving it another go at it while i still can, but i think i need some help. I spend most of my time alone, and i think that makes you do stupid things and not progress as much as you could. So im looking for a mentor. Someone that is comfortable at doing pixel art and would like to teach someone else the way of the pixel. Maybe to learn even more, remember the basics, or just have another good friend. Nothing too demanding, but more as a mean to change some ideas, pass your knowlodge, feel proud of your pupil. This is some art i made today, with no colors, just as a study on contrast: This is an older one i've managed to scavenge:
I know most of the naming/theory, but im just starting. I can be as good as you want an apprentice to be. Even if you're not into commiting like that, i gladly accept suggestions on how you would color that art. Edited by guipremonsa - 06 December 2013 at 10:55am |

PJ is a place where instead on one mentor you have many.
Use the WIP section to post, update, get feedback, ask questions all at your own pace. Many eyes and opinions are always better than one single point of view as feedback. |

I'm looking for a friend that loves pixel art, first and foremost. It might not be exactly a mentor, but someone that's also learning and wants to have a friend who can talk specifically about pixel art on a regular basis. :}
@jalonso: Any tips on coloring those chests? I've already read a lot about theory, so linking other topics wouldn't help much. See the knight has mainly red, and some yellow, so my coloring is still really bad, while im getting more confident on contrast. Maybe you can suggest some studies/excercises? Don't even think about giving up! Never give up! I'd say your pixel art is pretty good for a starter.
I'm also starting out with pixel art and that's basically why I signed up in pixeljoint. |
