It looks crappy and somewhat empty, but I don't know what to add :/

Hm... this one's a toughy. Try giving him a really deep brow, maybe some big,  "rocky" hands, and just... add some rock texture. Look around the gallery and I'm sure you'll find some good examples of rock shading~
