So we have a raven/raggiana bird of paradise:
![]() But in an attempt to imitate the real thing, it became obvious that the colors clash horribly. Sorry to be a dummy, but could anyone help me out? Today's moral: prior planning prevents piss-poor palettes. ;/ (Note: The lineart isn't completely finished, so just ignore the black mess.) Thanks! |

Hello Nevhkah,
When looking at some pictures on google there apparently is a difference between males/females and younger birds. This one I found is a bit more active: http:////www.habitat.org.pg/raggiana.jpg As far as I understood the males have darker colors where you have the brown color at the moment. So you might want to turn your version to the male version. Not sure if you want to limit yourself to a number of colors, otherwise you might want to try different shades of yellow on the head. I never have seen a bird in real life, only what I found on google just now. So, I could be complete wrong here, but your wings look a bit large. But maybe this is what you already pointed out and I should ignor the black mess. Which by the way I find not mess at all. It looks really great for a scetch! Hopefully my comments are something that you can use. Regards from M.E. |
