Full Time Artist - TORONTO, CANADA

This is a full-time position, aimed towards experienced 2D/Pixel Artists. Ideal candidates will have worked in game production previously.

Capybara Games Inc. is currently seeking a talented 2D/Pixel Artist for DS and 'Console Downloadable' (XBLA, PSN, Wiiware) game production. The ideal candidate has experience working in pixel and or 2D art, including tiling, animation and low-color work. The candidate should have strong traditional 2D art skills, and be able to communicate well with other team members.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work directly with Programmers, Designers and Artists to conceptualize and realize pixel art for mobile or DS games
• Create in-game art including sprites, animations, tiles, user interface and more
• Contribute innovative and original ideas towards all aspects of game production and development
• Actively seeks review and input from other team members. Able to take, and give, good constructive criticism.
• Create promotional material and illustrations for pitches/proposals, web and print

Required/Desired Skills:

• Must be a passionate gamer
• Animation experience (Pixel and/or 2D)
• Excellent traditional art skill (concept, environmental, etc)
• Highly skilled in Adobe Photoshop a must
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Team player – experience working on team-based projects is key
• Ability to follow direction and work in a variety of art styles
• Must be able to accurately estimate task durations, in order to facilitate smooth production
