So I have had a little bit of free time on my hands the last two days and so I decided to pick up pixel art and try to do something. For this image I rezed up the size so that there are four pixels for every one. I thought it would be better for presentation but idk how you guys normally show off your work. Anyway, let me know what you all think, its probably like my third real attempt at pixel art and so some input would be helpful.

I don't think that looks bad at all for a first try! I find the dithering to be a bit sporadic, and you could probably add some more detail to the rock/hovel. the shading on the small domes on top of the entrance and window area are nicely shaded.
As for presentation, just keep it at the original size, because you can zoom in/out on this forum really easily. Nice job and welcome! |

Maybe you should try to harmonize the colours of the rock with the colous of the houses because they seem to be two different pieces put in the same frame.
Also, I really like the way you put the house on the rock, it makes it feel like it hasn't been built straight because of the irregularity of the rock or the shade. As for the presentation, I usually put one picture at its original size and one zoomed x2, because the forum zoom isn't that great. Edited by Elastico-Gadget - 14 September 2012 at 8:20am |
