Hello there. I want to show you my OC, but i need some of your help. I have really no idea how to color her. I am not so good in PArt, but i've tried to color it in all styles i know. Result? Fail. So I beg u for some help. If u're able to color it and show me how could it looks like ill be very happy :3 There she is:  |

try to use non linear color ramps, now u have a simple ramp for each color , bright-mid-dark in only a single hue , thats rather uninteresting.in reality ull see that light and shadow mostly contain other colors then the object itself, for example the surrounding colors are reflected in the shadows, like the blue of the sky, greens of nature.... the hue of the lights is influenced by the lightsource (sunlight, artificial ligh etc....)
also in pixelart, for a better workflow (also in matters of certain aesthetics...) its nice to keep ur color count low....dont come up with new colors all the time, reuse and combine color ramps , for instance u could mix ur ramps for skin and hair, by combining the two darkes hair tones and the two brightest skin tones dont use colors that are too saturated (...i.e ur skin color).... high contrast is also very important in pixelart a good method working out a palette is to work on a 50%-grey background which doesnt affect ur subjective color perception ... anyways... heres my take on colors

You should post your early attempts so that we can see exactly where you had troubles with the shading. Also, before you jump into coloring you should work on the the lineart. For example, the right shoulder (our left) seems to be farther away from the neck than the left one (our right). To keep the spacing even, I suggest that you start your drawings with a skeletal sketch (not necessarily NPA) keeping in mind where the spine is and also the curvature and center of the rib cage/torso. This way, you can get an idea of how far away from the center everything should be.
Picking colors is very difficult but Onek gave some very helpful advice. As mentioned, remember your light source, the reflection of the ground, and remember to have a good contrast between shades. If achieving contrast is an issue I find that hueshifting can also have a great effect on seperating shades.
Don't be afraid to go back and redraw. Keep it up and you'll have a great piece!

I still think there are some things wrong with it. Where the neck is attached to the head looks funny in my oppinion, I think that making the back of the head and neck a continuous line would help. Also, the strap of her shirt and the angle of her breast along with the lines of the collar bones makes it look lop sided. Furthermore, without shading, her left breast is non-existant. Here is a edit showing a sketch:
 The green lines are used to show the connection between symetrical body parts and when the middle of these lines are connected, the torso is given a very odd shape. I tried to make things more even and show how I use a center line to keep things in check. I don't know whether or not my edit eliminated any dynamic aspects of your picture but I hope it still helps.
