Good day,

I'm currently upscaling this bunny avatar (source: http://bittybay.com) for a web template I am making. I'm trying to use a similar style as the actual bunny: very chromatic, heavily smoothed etc. I started it about an hour ago, and I've still not gotten the kinks out of the body shape nor planned the shading correctly. I was unsure what I was going to do with the eye, so I had an attempt at the shape and shading, though I'm still not happy with it! :(

I wanted to have a big eyed cute bunny, without it being too "Japanese".

The major thing I'm worried about is how I am going to texture the fur. I've never textured/made anything this large, so I don't know where to go from here!

Any ideas on the eye shape/body shape/how I should go about the fur texture?

i think the eye looks good, there's a wired pixel or little cluster of pixels at the lower right side of the iris.
i really like the eye :)
as for body, in the back leg above the heel; it looks like a pie shaped chunk missing from his leg. i understand structurally the bunny work this way but the longer hair back there would hide a lot of structure underneath, i think connecting the heel to the back of the leg in a nice curve would look better, if this paragraph doesn't make sense ill draw you what i mean.
tail looks too big, and i would consider making the ears bigger, not necessarily longer, but bigger would help its "cute" appeal.
the front legs look too far apart almost like the far leg isnt connected to the body at all.
i wouldn't show any part of the left eye on the edge of the face, maybe have the line curve in our out a bit to hint at a brow.
one last thing i see is where the body connects with the back of the head, it gives the impression the rabbits quite hefty and has no neck, i would try lowering that line a bit.

i suggest getting the shapes solid before moving on to texture and by all means get those shadows and highlights fixed before doing texture.
as for advice creating fur, the best advice is too look at other artists' design and work under a fine toothed comb.

hope this helps
