Hi! I'm working on a little platformer game (Meat Boy style). I have just started doing graphics for it and wanted to hear some comments and advices on it before I start animating. It's still work in progress (especially sword):

I think you may need to take a second look at super meat boy - the "style" he uses is more of a square shaped sprites. Also it should be noted super meat boy is not pixel art but done in flash.
i seem to have found a sprite resource http://www.spriters-resource.com/other_systems/supermeatboy/sheet/37355 - here
EDIT: Though i do realize there are guest characters in the game that resemble their original style

I like the design and proportion... Looks like it will allow for some fun animation.
If the game is a viewed from the side view like Meat Boy, then it might be better to have his feet flat on the ground. This way the foot can change into the "heel-off-ground" shape when you animate the foot pushing off during something like a run.

The Meat Boy style was about gameplay, not the graphics style. Also 'Flash' is not style/technique, it's platform and just because it has vector graphics renderer built-in it doesn't mean that you can't make pixelart games in it.
I've got some comments on Pixelation and did edit. I change the style a bit, but I think it turned out better than the original one
