That's not crap. You have used precision in placing colors of areas and defined on a pixel level...you even AAd a little. That was the issue in the rejected piece.
On this piece the biggest flaw I see at this point is that the ship is not reading as metallic and generally everything is undefined. Higher contrast and brighter highlights should help.

I updated the highlights/specularity and a couple of shaddows. I also changed the colors slightly for more contrast. I find it quite hard with adding the specularity and I am very sure that I am doing something essentially wrong. Though I cant convert the stuff from the tutorials form the forum to my spaceship to get it look right -.-
I colored shadows yellow and highlights green to make them more clear on the 2nd ship.

edit: I know that the highlights and shadows should be kind of transparent they are only for showcase reasons completley black and white. forgott to mention that before ...

Well, it's hard to provide feedback in this black and white state. I do find it slightly strange that the angle of your highlight stripes varies from the main hull to the cockpit glass to top of the ship. I'm not sure if that's a bad thing, but there you go.
The shadow looks alright, although I'm not sure why you have a shadow edge on the side of the top there. Also, I assume you'll be adding some shadows to the side of the ship, as the light source appears to be on one side.
Much better design on this ship than your last, btw. Very retro.
